About 9:50am on Sunday, police and emergency services were called ot Murrumbateman Road, about 500 metres north of Bush Lane, after reports a Nissan X=Trail had struck a tree.

The sole occupant of the car, a 54-year-old man died at the scene.

Officers from the Hume Police District established a crime scene.

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
