Farmers and residents got together in Collector to kick-off the group on Saturday April 7 and enjoyed a delicious breakfast cooked to perfection by the local SES unit.
Active Farmers is a joint venture with Delta Agribusiness and aims to provide a service that helps improve not only people’s physical health, but also mental health.
The group fitness classes provide an opportunity for farmers and the local community to come together, socialise, work on their fitness and naturally improve their mental health.
Quigg says it is the best way to start her day. “Wow! What an amazing turn out at the Active Farmers launch event,” she said. “It was great to see so many community members, family and children come along and join in on the free fitness class.
“I’m very excited to continue to work with the Collector community to help bring the social and mental benefits that come with group fitness training. Everyone always has a good laugh and I’m excited to meet some more local people around the area.”
Quigg will be at the Collector Pumpkin Festival in May to run active and fun games for the community.
