There was a lot to do on the night.
People strolled through Eat Street to pick from one of many food vendors, the Goulburn Concert Band performed, kids fired their way through laser tag, trained to be a Jedi and had their faces painted.
The Star Wars LEGO collection on exhibition had many envious and the giant indoor screen provided by Mission Australia was brilliant for the feature movie The Force Awakens.
“This was the first time we have used the indoor screen for the Pictures and Popcorn. The screen is more than double the size of the outdoor screen,” Goulburn Mulwaree Council events officer Angela Remington said.
“It is important to provide events like this so that there is a connection between the community which builds a base that lasts well beyond the event.
“It also showcases the facilities we have and is an opportunity to involve local stallholders and service providers.”
This is the first time that Pictures and Popcorn has been held in Autumn, on a Friday night and with an all free kids zone and in the newly heated Veolia Arena.
The next event will be held in November.
