They say that good things come in threes. This adage, while not necessarily concrete, has certainly proven true for Goulburn trio Chris Hart, Nic Cornish and Tyson Greenwood.

The youngsters played most of their junior football together, were selected for the Goulburn Bulldogs First Grade team together, and, most recently, were named in the Monaro Colts Under 23s side together.
For Bulldogs coach Adam Kyle, this news did not come as a surprise.
“They’re all guys that have really worked hard on their game over the last couple of years,” Kyle said.
“From a first grade side of things [they] were really starting to see the benefits of the work they’ve been doing for us on field.
“So it’s a really good reward for them but also a really good reward for the club.”
Although the three were selected together this season, 2018 will be Greenwood’s second year in the Monaro Under 23s side, following his role in last year’s tournament-winning team.
However, he said that it was a bonus to be playing alongside teammates whose games he knows well.
“Having the two boys from Goulburn there is good for that comfortable feel,” Greenwood said.
“It is good to have some familiar faces there from the hometown.”
Hart was of a similar opinion, but said that his background playing in junior Raiders sides will help make the transition into the team smoother.
“There’s a fair few blokes in that team that I’ve played with in the junior Raiders too, so there’s a lot of familiar faces for me as well,” he said.
“Most of the guys I knew before even turning up to training, so it does make it a lot easier.
“But also having Nic that I’ve played with all through the juniors and obviously Tyson as well, it’s really good.”
The Monaro Under 23s will play the Riverina side this weekend in Wagga Wagga, and Greenwood expects the match to be a tough one.
“The country boys, Riverina, they’re always got a pretty big [forward] pack and a skilful backs so they’ll be pretty hard to handle, but I think we should be able to do it,” he said.
The match will take place from 12.10pm at Harris Park.
