The council has advised that judgment on the proposed Islamic Cemetery at Marulan has been delayed again.
A spokesman said today that due to other judicial and conference commitments the NSW Land and Environment Court had deferred a ruling until Wednesday, May 30.

A decision is expected next week on a controversial plan for an Islamic Cemetery near Marulan.
Council general manager Warwick Bennett said he’d been advised that the NSW Land and Environment Court would rule on the Al Mabarrat Society’s plan for a 11,000 plot cemetery off Highland Way on Wednesday.
It comes 10 months after the court’s last hearing on the matter, after which it reserved judgment. The Society challenged the council’s December, 2015 refusal of the facility in a case that has been running off and on since 2016.
Councillors unanimously refused the project on eight grounds including traffic impact, “inconsistencies” in information supplied, bushfire risk, “insufficient information” regarding use of a service hall and its permissability in the zone.
The proposal had sparked hundreds of public submissions, the majority opposing the development application.
