Women represent in Goulburn golf

The largest women’s golf tournament in over 10 years will be held in Goulburn from May 28 to 30. The 130 registrations, with handicaps ranging from 5 to 45, were received from 25 clubs. One regular visitor to Goulburn from Norfolk Island was given a Miscellaneous Membership by the VWGA so that she can participate.

Monday will consist of a “Meet and Greet” where each player will receive a sample bag containing promotional gifts and information showcasing Goulburn and surrounds. Visitors will also have the opportunity to join local players in a pre-match practice game.

Tuesday’s main competition in three divisions will be a Stableford with extra trophies and even a Super Duper Vet prize for the over 80’s competitors. Additionally, a big feature each day will be a $100 prize awarded for a Supershot NTP on the 11th Hole. Wednesday will be a 4BBB team competition with plenty of friendly rivalry.

On Tuesday night the Goulburn Golf Club ladies will host a dinner, which will be attended by Mayor Bob Kirk and representatives from the Veteran Women’s Golf Association of NSW.

The GGC Ladies Veteran Committee would like to sincerely thank all of the sponsors and appreciate their generosity.  It is with their support that we look forward to a very successful tournament.
