Letter to the editor: Why are governments scrounging for top ups

Federal robo debts are becoming as common as petrol price increases, and hitting with increasing commonality, ordinary Australians.

What is wrong with our tax system that governments are scrounging for top ups with an increasing tempo.

The disturbing trend needs to be addressed. Hidden taxes are becoming overwhelming, assessed by administrators who make assumptions about what an individual may be able to afford, in the short term.
