President Rona welcomed everybody. Several members have not been well. We wish them a speedy recovery.
Happy Birthday to Rona who celebrated her birthday on May 12.
Rona and Lee Oxley attended an executive workshop facilitated by Humphrey Armstrong at RIDBC on March 26. It was found to be most interesting and informative.
A donation of $150 was received from Margaret Relf. Margaret is a wonderful supporter of our club and has made donations in the past. Thank you, Margaret.
She is also a regular fixture at Goulburn and district’s market stalls selling her wide array of jams, pickles, cakes, slices and other goodies.
All the luncheon tables were beautifully decorated with pots of white chrysanthemums for Mother’s Day. Lantern Club Member Lorraine Langford presented each lady with a beautiful white rose for the occasion.
Several weeks before our Mother’s Day lunch Lantern Club ladies generously gave their time to sell raffle tickets in the Mother’s Day raffle outside Aldi Store. Thank you very much to Aldi for allowing us to be there, also their generous customers for their support. A wonderful result was achieved.
The raffle was drawn at the luncheon.
First prize – Joe Dickson.
Second prize – Joyce Halls.
Third prize – Leah Ross.
Fourth prize – C. Goodwin.
Our next meeting will be the Annual General Meeting on Friday, June 8 at Cascades Restaurant Best Western Plus. Arrive 10.30am for an 11am start. RSVP to Rona phone: 4821 5148 by Monday, June 4.
The Lantern Club has been going in Goulburn for 41 years. It loans crucial support to a teleschool program which reaches children all over Australia.
