They were there to acknowledge Wear Orange Wednesday or WOW Day.
WOW Day is a chance to thank the 9000 plus NSW SES volunteers who give their personal time to respond to emergencies across the state, 24 hours a day.
Goulburn SES Unit member Jocelyn Strutt said WOW Day is about raising awareness in the local community about what the SES does.
”We mainly respond to storms and floods,” she said.
“We also are there to help other organisations like the Ambos and the RFS and the Firies.”
“We back them up for other operations as well such as where infrastructure has gone down and also with and evacuations.”
Ms Strutt said the SES was undertaking a major recruitment drive at the moment, so they were also at the Volunteer Expo Day in Goulburn on Friday. Pictured on WOW Day in Belmore Park were Steve Watson, Paddy Platypus, Jocelyn Strutt, Jack Wray, Jessie Skinner-Smith and Jack Laurenson.
