Curves is “the one and only women-only gym in Goulburn” says co-owner Karen Wilson.
They have “Equipment and workouts designed especially for women. Strength and cardio training, (with) trainers included; pay no more for personal trainers.
“Pay no extra on top of your membership for world-leading feedback technology, trainers to teach and motivate, and special Body Basics circuits” which include boxing, yoga/balance, cardio, legs, core, arms, and dance.
“Our Curves Club is a community of local women at all stages of life,” says Karen, “teenagers and young women through to women in their 80s,” as well as those who started off having never exercised before through to those who were already very fit.
“Curves is the original express fitness workout, designed to get results in just 30 minutes in as few as three workouts per week,” Karen said.
Karen first heard about Curves from a friend. Karen was so excited by what she had discovered, “my weight came down, strength and fitness returned” that she shared her enthusiasm with her sister, Narelle who joined her local Curves.
The sisters looked for an opportunity to purchase a Curves club “and help other women discover how easy it can be to become healthy, strong and have more energy.”
In May 2008 they became owners of Curves Goulburn, and since then they say they are “Constantly inspired and humbled by the positive effects Curves has had on the lives of so many Goulburn women,” and they “Have seen countless examples of profound changes in many women’s lives.”
Through these years Karen has experienced some health issues that many local women have been through; surgeries, radiotherapy, chemo and a stem cell transplant, plus an ongoing dodgy knee and occasional shoulder and hip issues, so she can empathise with anyone.
“I know without any doubt that it is my Curves strength inside and out that has seen me through it all and kept me strong and well.”
