Southern Tablelands, Highlands: Temperatures set to drop

Winter has been around for a couple of weeks, but it is about to show its icy fangs this weekend to prove it is not messing around.

While Crookwell is the only area where snow is expected, other parts will be just as cold.

Goulburn

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a minimum temperature of 5 degrees and a maximum temperature of 11 degrees on Friday. 

Partly cloudy and with a 20 per cent chance of rain, northwesterly winds are expected to reach 50 km/h.

Temperatures on Saturday are expected to drop by 1 degree, with a minimum of 4 degrees and maximum of 9 degrees predicted.

There will be a 40 per cent chance of rain.

On Sunday, temperatures are predicted to drop again – this time to a minimum of 1 degree and a maximum of 6 degrees. 

Bowral

On Friday, the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a maximum of 11 degrees  and a minimum of 5 degrees in Bowral.

Winds are expected to reach 50km/h in the morning and then decrease to 25km/h in the late evening. 

While it is expected to be sunny on Saturday, the minimum temperature is expected to drop to 5 degrees and the maximum temperature is expected to hit 9 degrees.

On Sunday, the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a minimum temperature of 2 degrees and a maximum of 7 degrees for the Highlands.

Yass

In Yass on Friday, the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a minimum temperature of 5 degrees and a maximum temperature of 10 degrees with a 60 per cent chance of rain.

On Saturday temperatures are expected to drop, with a minimum of 4 degrees and a maximum of 8 degrees predicted.

On Sunday, temperatures are expected to drop to a minimum of 1 degree and maximum of 5 degrees predicted. 

There is a 90 per cent chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday.

Braidwood 

On Friday in Braidwood temperatures are expected to drop to a minimum of 5 degrees and reach a maximum of 10 degrees. 

There is a 60 per cent chance of rain.

On Saturday, temperatures are expected to drop to minimum of 4 degrees and reach a maximum of 8 degrees. 

On Sunday, temperatures  are expected to drop to minimum of 4 degrees and reach a maximum of 5 degrees. 

There is a 90 per cent chance of rain on both Saturday and Sunday.
