The Rotary Club of Goulburn Mulwaree presented a cheque for $20,000 to the Goulburn Base Hospital on Monday so it can purchase an ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) instrument tray.

Dr Jarvis Hayman said hospital does not have an ACL tray and borrows one every time they need to do ACL surgery. This has led to delays and cancellation of some surgery.
The rupturing of the ACL is an increasingly common injury among young people.
A Goulburn Mulwaree Rotary spokesperson said the donation was made to recognise nurses from the Goulburn Region who went to WWI, as this is the final year of the centenary of the war, they wanted to mark the contribution of Goulburn to that war.
The focus of the presentation was on two nurses, Alice Twynam and Bill Duffy, both of who went to war in 1914 and spent the duration of the war treating Australian soldiers.
These nurses will be the subject of a later story.
