I had the good fortune to be born in Goulburn in 1956 and to spend much of my childhood there visiting my grandparents, Jim and Helen Hadgistilli, and my aunt, Cynthia Pandelakis.

My grandparents owned the Blue and White Cafe in the late 1940s/early 1950s, which was largely run by their daughter (my mother), Rose Hadgistilli.
My aunt Cynthia owned the Blue Dolphin fish shop.
Now many years later I am compiling a cook book incorporating their recipes, many of them originating from Goulburn and served to the Goulburn community.
Unfortunately, I have no photographs of the Blue and White in the 1950s, although I vividly remember the plaster cow in the cafe window.
