The train’s stationary somewhere near Bargo.
An announcement comes over the PA that there is a points failure up ahead and a coal train is blocking the line.
“They’ll have to wind the points by hand, and then we can clear the coal train and finally get going,” said the PA.
It’s not like we’re in the 19th century with steam trains still running.
The rest of the world has high speed rail. Australia and the Antarctica are the only continents that still don’t have HSR.
No – we can’t even get 40 year old trains to run their interminably slow timetables on time because they have to hand crank failed points!
It’s what you get when you live in a safe seat where us punters are taken for granted.
And a memo to other aspiring politicians: we need a better rail service, not yet another jail.
