It’s time to clean out your cupboards or shed and dispose of any household problem wastes that you’ve been holding on to.
The events are taking place on Saturday, July 28 in Goulburn and Marulan. The Goulburn event will be hosted at Council’s Hetherington Street Depot, between 8am and 11am.
The Marulan event will take place at Council’s Marulan Waste Management Centre, located on Wilson Drive, between 1pm and 4pm.
“The Chemical Cleanout is a great opportunity for residents with household problem wastes like paint, gas bottles and chemicals to dispose of these items for free,” said Goulburn Mulwaree Mayor Bob Kirk.
“This event is held once a year and items are not otherwise accepted at Council’s waste facilities so I encourage the community to take advantage.”
Residents can dispose of household quantities of the following household chemicals and items: Up to a maximum of 20l or 20kg of a single item, Solvents and household cleaners, floor care products, Ammonia-based cleaners, Pesticides and herbicides, Poisons, Pool chemicals, Hobby chemicals, Motor fuels, Fluorescent globes and tubes, Acids and alkalis, Smoke detectors, Paint and paint-related products, Gas bottles, Fire extinguishers, Car and household batteries, Motor oils and cooking oils.
This event is for household problem wastes only. Business-related and commercial quantities of chemicals are not accepted. The Household Chemical CleanOut is supported by the NSW EPA and the Canberra Region Joint Organisation (CRJO). For enquiries call 4823 4417.
