The Goulburn Soldiers Club president Michael Donnelly was there to present the machine to the hospital. 

The hospital had provided them with a list of items they were lacking.

“They gave us a list which indicated what equipment they needed,” Mr Donnelly said.  

“On the list was a vein finder as well as other things, so we chose to donate an ultrasound.” 

Incidentally, the Acting Director of Nursing and Midwifery Cheryl Tozer is also the daughter of Mr Donnelly and was highly appreciative of the donation as it came at the perfect time.  

“We just have one ultrasound in the main hospital, so this is very useful,” Ms Tozer said.  

Ms Tozer said taking blood can be a hard process, so the ultrasound would help make things easier. 

“It can be difficult taking blood from our patients sometimes, so this will help a lot,” she said.  

“It visualises the vein for us so we know where we’re going.”  

Former manager of Goulburn Health Service and now the Local Health District project lead for the Goulburn Hospital redevelopment, Kerry Hort, was also there to witness the event. 

The Soldiers Club has donated a blanket warmer and a beach chair to the hospital in the past.
