It was a decision at the meeting that in future members would always have a table reserved for Rosemary on meeting days ensuring that all members would be able to sit together.
A minute’s silence
The meeting began with a minute’s silence for Val Churchill, a long-time member, whose funeral was held on Monday July 21.
Zena Ridley was welcomed as a new member.
Bus trip
The main item on the agenda was the bus trip for September 21, which is to be a drive around Goulburn viewing and learning about some of our heritage buildings. Final arrangements will be made at the next meeting on September 3, and also in the Legacy Bulletin.
The final trip for 2018 will be in November. This was a topic given to the general meeting for discussion for suggestions, the outcome being that this will be a shopping excursion with thoughts being given to maybe purchasing Christmas gifts for family and friends.
A lot more of this will be discussed with probably final decisions being made at the next meeting in September, so there will be more of this in the next report.
The big date for the diary this month is the bus trip on September 21, not the usual fifth Friday of the month as this coincides with the Labour Day Holiday on October 1.
