This is a student-led initiative whereby the ANU students run 5km legs in a relay formation from ANU in Canberra to Bondi Beach in Sydney over two days, stopping in Bowral overnight.
Sponsorship director from the group Sarah Davoren said the initiative is held to raise money for Batyr, a youth mental health organisation which focuses on preventative education.
“Batyr trains young people to speak about their personal experiences with mental health and start a conversation in their community about it,” Ms Davoren said.
“The ‘Being Herd’ program by Batyr aims to smash the stigma surrounding youth mental health and reassures young people that ‘its ok to not be ok’.”
