The Goulburn Stags and Marulan White faced off in Crookwell after both home sides had finished the first semi-final, 3-2 in favour of the Crookwell Griffins.
The match was touted as a blockbuster, and so it proved. Marulan have dominated the competition all year long, however the Stags proved that they were more than up for the fight.
Although the top team prevailed in the end, the Stags pushed them close to the limit and very nearly overcame a rampant Marulan side, 4-3.
With this loss, the Stags will next take on the Crookwell Griffins in the preliminary final, which will decide who will face Marulan once again in the Grand Final.
The preliminary final is a match that the Stags will be confident of winning. While the Griffins proved that they were the best Crookwell team on the day last weekend, the latter half of their season has fallen a long way short of the benchmark set by the Stags and Marulan.
The preliminary final between the Goulburn Stags and the Crookwell Griffins will kick off from 2:30pm at Cookbundoon 2 on Saturday September 15.
