Some excellent progress has been made on the project which will include a new indoor pool with ‘water play’, warm water pool, new outdoor pool, additional car parking, an ancillary café, gymnasium, crèche, landscaping and associated works.
As most people will know, we plan to split the works across two stages with stage one to include the new aquatic centre building and indoor facilities, change rooms, and more. The application is scheduled to be determined by the Joint Regional Planning Panel in October.
At next week’s council meeting we will also consider a number of reports including review of height of building restrictions in the CBD, two tenders and a report recommending formal recognition of Veolia’s contribution to the Goulburn Performing Arts Centre. The agenda for the meeting will be available on our website or from the Civic Centre on Friday.
Pizza & Pitch Fest
As part of Small Business Month, the council is working with members of the Goulburn Innovation Network to host Pizza & Pitch Fest on October 24 at the Collective.
The event is a pitch festival to not only celebrate small businesses but help to create and support new businesses in the community. The group want to hear from students, individuals, current business owners and entrepreneurs that have a business idea that would benefit Goulburn.

Holcim Mayoral Charity Golf Day
Spring has sprung and the date has been set for the 10th Holcim Mayoral Charity Golf Day which will be held on Friday, November 23 at the Goulburn Golf Club.
The annual event raises important funds for local charitable organisations, with every dollar raised going directly to causes in our region. This year’s beneficiaries will be CanAssist Goulburn, Goulburn Palliative Care and the Wollondilly Public School P&C.
It also presents a chance to enjoy a casual Friday of golf with workmates or friends, and come November the golf course is in prime condition. The day features a four person Ambrose competition over 18 holes, with a shotgun start. Cost is $35 per player, which includes green fees and a barbecue lunch. We are also still seeking sponsors in the form of cash donations or prizes.
If you are interested in entering a team or sponsoring the event, please contact Debbie on 4823 4552.
