The accident occurred when a Honda Sedan in a stream of traffic heading toward Goulburn slowed to turn into the Kingsdale Winery, opposite the Kingsdale Road.
The ACT-registered motorcycle that was following behind in a stream of traffic hit the rear of the sedan, dislodging both the rider and passenger from the bike.
The driver and passenger of the car, believed to be from Sydney, were uninjured but shaken. The man and woman who had been thrown from the bike were made comfortable by witnesses and other motorists until the ambulances arrived.
Once treated on scene by Ambulance NSW paramedics, they were transported to Goulburn Base Hospital. Ambulance media reported that the male rider sustained pelvic and abdominal injuries, while his female companion was assessed as suffering minor injuries.
Mulwaree Support Rural Fire Service personnel, who were called in case a fire occurred, assisted to load the bike on the tilt tray recovery truck and cleaned up the debris. Police closed one lane of Crookwell Road but allowed Crookwell and Goulburn bound traffic to pass the accident site until the roadway was cleared.
Despite damage to the rear of the Honda, the sedan was still driveable.
