Six members competed in the North Rocks Smallbore Rifle Club Prize Shoot at Holroyd Rifle Range, Greystanes, last Saturday.
The Holroyd Rifle Range is a fully baffled facility built to the latest safety standards in 2011. As with all baffled ranges the wind bouncing off the baffles and walls, and changing direction frequently kept competitors on their toes when making the decision of where to aim and when to fire to get the elements to push the shot into the “10” ring.
David Wright placed first in A Grade Prone, scoring 590 out of a possible 600, and second in the 20 Metre A Grade Prone 397/400.
Brian Mitchell scored 599 with 47 centrals out of a possible 600 to place third in A Grade Benchrest, Robert Gibbens scored 598/600 with 46 centrals for first B Grade Benchrest and Samantha Gibbens scored 595/600 with 35 centrals in first in C Grade Benchrest.
After good shooting like that Robert will be moving to A Grade and Samantha will be moving up to B Grade.
David continued his winning run scoring three bottles of wine in the raffle after the North Rocks shoot and winning the A Grade Prone at the Wagga Wagga Small Bore Rifle Club Prize Shoot with a score of 591/600 on Sunday.
