All MBK competition teams played for places in the grand finals.
The AAW team have been consistently first on their ladder and have had a great season so far, and on the 8th, played Marulan AAW with extra time, and unfortunately lost to Marulan in a very hard-fought game, giving Marulan first berth in the grand final on September 22, at the Workers Arena.
On September 15, the AAW returned to the field to take on Goulburn Stags AAW and came out victorious, earning second berth in the grand final.
The All Age Men have grown throughout the season with a number of new players joining the side this year. Injury has taken its toll on the team and while making the finals of division 3 of the AAM competition, they were not triumphant, and are now looking forward to next year.
The MBK United under 13s have grown from strength to strength. Every week they have grown in skill and team work. They finished second on the overall table in the first division, being just behind Wollondilly Soldiers Green. On September 8, they were beaten by Wollondilly Soldiers Green in a head to head match, which necessitated playing Stags Black U13 team on the September 15. It was a tight game but MBK came out on top and have sealed a place in the grand final.
MBK United are very proud of all their teams and would like to congratulate the AAW and Under 13s for making it to the grand finals this Saturday, September 22 at the Worker Arena and look forward to a healthy cheer squad!
MBK United would like to thank their sponsors for this season: Fertspread, McCann Properties and Southern Wool Traders, Gunning Butcher Shop, and Bumnuts Australia, and all those local businesses that have supported their fundraising efforts throughout the year. They would also thank all the families and friends of the Club for their support throughout the season, whether at the canteen, line-marking, fundraising or cheering on!
