The clubs that attended were Avoca Beach, Wyong, Bateau Bay and Canton Beach at Toukley, all part of the Wyong Rugby League Club group. These days are an annual event of competition and fellowship and are run at each club in rotation. Next years Friendship day will be held at Canton Beach.
On Saturday morning four busloads of Lawn Bowlers ascended on Goulburn Railway Bowling Club carrying 128 competitors.
Goulburn also had representation of 40 bowlers owing to some players not being available on one of these days. The weekend consisted of two games of mixed fours with eight teams from each club on both Saturday and Sunday. There was a sea of colour all weekend as all competitors were in their Club Uniforms.
At all times all three greens were full and 160 players were on the greens. There was a Dinner held at the Club on Saturday Night. Congratulations have to go to the Caterers at the Sentosa Restaurant who prepared this delicious meal.
Thanks also go to the management and staff at our local Bowlo for organising their side and making this event a success.
Volunteers from the Goulburn Bowling Club preparedbBreakfast on Sunday Morning and lunch. A presentation was held in the Club.
There was some incredible bowls played and all matches were very close. The winners of the Weekend and Perpetual Trophy were Avoca Beach who narrowly defeated Goulburn Railway followed by Bateau Bay, Wyong and Canton Beach.
Our thanks go to Wyong Leagues Club for sponsoring this annual event and we look forward next year to returning the visit to Canton Beach.
