The Goulburn Post covered his story several months ago in August when he did superbly well in the Sydney eisteddfod.
The local star has done even better at both the Australian National eisteddfod and Goulburn eisteddfod and has ended his circuit for 2018 with a bang.
At the Australian National Eisteddfod held at Ainslie Arts Centre on September 8, Joshua won the 12 years and under drama solo, public speech solo, prose recital solo and reading at sight solo categories. He was also runner-up in the 12 years and under poetry recital solo and religious reading solo categories.
The achievements do not end there.
At the 53rd Goulburn eisteddfod held at the Lieder Theatre on September 24-26, he won the 12 years and under character recital solo and the public speech Year 6 solo categories. In the 12 years and under verse recital solo, impromptu reading solo and the bible reading solo categories, he was placed second.
Perhaps his most impressive win was the 12 years and under Goulburn Eisteddfod Society speech and drama award as that was his fourth consecutive victory.
“I would like to thank my teacher Lee Thornton from the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium for her dedicated training,” the speech and drama scholarship holder at the Conservatorium said.
“I would also like to thank Mazda which sponsors my scholarship and enables me to travel and compete in interstate competitions.
“Special mention should also be made to Lyn Lace and the Goulburn Eisteddfod committee for keeping this wonderful competition viable for not just the local community, but for competitors from all over the state.”
The 12-year-old is now studying for his Trinity College of London Speech and Drama exam which takes place in Sydney on November 23.
