All such organisations need to have an up-to-date constitution that reflects their goals.
The Department of Fair Trading provides a copy of a model constitution that reflects good governance and can be adapted to suit.
An organisation’s constitution should be a living document that needs to be reviewed annually to ensure that it is reflective of what you do, and also to ensure that members of your organisation understand what is in it, as it forms the basis of good corporate governance.
Good governance is at the heart of any successful business or organisation. It is essential for an organisation to achieve its objectives and drive improvement, as well as maintain legal and ethical standing in the eyes of stakeholders, regulators and the wider community.
Six pillars of good corporate governance:
- Rules of law.
- Moral integrity.
- Transparency.
- Participation.
- Responsibility and accountability.
- Effectiveness and efficiency.
To enable Community Plus Inc to continue to provide good governance we will be holding our annual general meeting on Monday, November 19 at 4pm, Level 1, 56 Clinton Street. Everyone is welcome and if you would like to nominate for a board position please email: contact@communityplus.net.au
