That’s why the group is holding a short, focussed public meeting at 7pm on Wednesday, November 14 in the Tony Foley Centre.
Gunning Focus Group secretary Bob Spiller said the meeting’s main purpose was to consider what the village needs to do remain really relevant and useful to the community.
“It is about attracting good audiences and contributing to the musical and cultural life of the district as well as it possibly can,” he said.
“We would very much appreciate your joining us at this meeting if you are able.
“Perhaps you have views, favourable or otherwise, on some of our offerings in the past?
“Maybe there are some different musical genres or other cultural activities you would like to see us introduce?
“Or possibly you are not always able to come to events because our scheduling just does not suit? Whatever your views, they will be welcome.”
Former Mayor John Shaw OAM will chair the meeting.
“We will also have the assistance of arts management professional Evol McLeod OAM on the night,” he said.
“Both John and Evol (from Yass) are Focus Group members.
“If things go to plan, we should emerge from our short focused meeting with a list of prioritised recommendations to help us shape the Gunning Focus Group’s future activities in our community.
“We'd love your input. Hope you can come along. ‘
