The International Day of People with Disability celebrates the achievements and contributions of people with disabilities and helps them connect with the community.

The theme for this year was empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equity.

There were plenty of activities including basketball, a photo booth, a zumba class, a blow up obstacle course, an art display, photo booth and a free sausage sizzle.

Ruby the miniature therapy horse was also a favourite on the day.  

Representatives from the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery ran classes and many disability service providers had stalls presenting information. 

Heni Hardi from the Goulburn Multicultural Centre  ran a Zumba class for people.

Goulburn Mulwaree Liesurelink coordinator Jo-Ann Fitzsimmons said it was a successful day.

“It was a fantastic event, with over 500 in attendance,” she said. 

“There were 22 teams in the basketball comp and many school students helped out on the day.”
