Kath Campbell works as the executive director and looks after the admin. Her partner Roy Dooley is very hands on too, still functioning as one of the patrolmen. Son Michael Dooley and daughter Tennille Campbell also work for the business.
“What that means is we get to know the [local] dynamics and what is important to the community.”
Kath believes there’s a perception that they only look after businesses, however they also provide home security solutions including patrols, for very little cost, and for as short or long a period of time as you might need, even just over the holidays.
“If you can’t be at your home, we can be with a security patrol,” Kath says, covering the night and the day.
The solutions they offer are tailored to individual needs. They can even check on a premises that’s still attended, if you have an elderly mum or dad for instance that you’d like to keep safe.
Kath illustrated the need for patrol times to be random, so as to make their movements unpredictable. They also observe what’s going on at client’s addresses as they drive around through the night, so it’s protection that goes beyond checking everything is closed and locked, with nobody around that shouldn’t be.
Another thing Kath was keen to mention is “we supply and install alarms and provide alarm response,” if you want that extra layer of security. As an added bonus, this can also reduce your insurance premiums.
Watchdog provide static guards too, be it for a special event or any other reason you might need them.

The business was set up in late 2013 and fully up and running by early 2014. Things have gone well since then, with Kath and Roy now working on expanding their coverage areas as well as their products and services.
Currently they cover not just Goulburn itself but also surrounding areas in the Southern Tablelands as far away as Yass, Crookwell and Marulan.
Kath tells us that they intend to start covering the Southern Highlands region next year, and they’re rolling out even more solutions to make you feel safer in your home.
