The Tarlo/Middle Arm Landcare group were selected as finalists in the prestigious Regional Achievement and Community Awards, held recently.
They were presented with a certificate by Minister for Lands and Forestry Paul Toole at the 2018 NSW/ACT Regional Achievement and Community Awards presentation night, which was held at the Orange Ex-Services Club on November 16.
Over 250 guests gathered from across NSW and the ACT to celebrate high achievers in landcare from the area.
The Tarlo/Middle Arm Landcare group was established in 2004 by a group of neighbours from the Tarlo and Middle Arm Rural Fire Brigade areas.
The Landcare Group increases the biodiversity and catchment water quality on three Crown reserves.
Their main focus has been to reduce weed density, increase biodiversity, and demonstrate practice management methodologies.
They plant native seedlings and have established a Native Plant Nursery at the Middle Arm Hall.
