Allocated a total of 10 race meetings for this season, Goulburn is experimenting with two block periods of racing.
With the first block encompassing the December January period, the second block of race meetings commence with the last Monday in April, and continue each fortnight over the months of May and June 2019.
The season’s highlights will be the popular Hewitt Memorial Crookwell race day on Sunday the January 13, 2019, followed a fortnight later by the Goulburn Carnival of Cups race day on the Australia Day public holiday, Monday January 28, 2019.
The two meetings carry combined prize money of over $170,000 and should prove a great attraction to the best horses racing in country NSW.
The Frank and Edna Day Goulburn Cup will once again be contested for $30,000 and Group 3 status, and the club is optimistic of attracting the best fast class pacers racing at the time.
And in a new partnership, the Goulburn club has joined with Convoy For Kids Goulburn to provide an added attraction to Carnival of Cups race day.
With a fleet of vintage trucks on display, activities for children, and the country/rock music talent of Goulburn’s own Jamie Agius on show, this season’s cup day is not to be missed.
Most importantly, the Goulburn club will donate the entirety of the gate to Convoy For Kids Goulburn who do such wonderful work to support local children suffering from cancer and severe disabilities.
