Answer: they have all been found in the recycling stream at Endeavour Industries.
Astounded? The staff at Endeavour say this is just some of the weird material they have had to fish out of the waste stream at the Sincliar St facility.
These are items that have been placed in the yellow bins by residents.
As such, staff at the facility are reminding residents to take more care with what they put into the yellow bins, especially at Christmas. Here are some other tips.
“Take the lids of plastic soft drink bottles because otherwise they explode and also take the lids off glass jars,” Annette Dunn said.
“Also no broken glasses please and take the casks out of the wine box, in fact take everything out of boxes and styrofoam goes into the red bin.”
Meanwhile, the 2019 Waste Calendar has now been sent out to properties within the collection zones in Goulburn and Mulwaree.
Anyone who has not received the new calendar in the mail is asked to contact Council’s Waste Info Line on 4823 4417.
Recycling will be collected in the week from the 17th – 21st December as well as in the week from the 24th – 29th December.
Waste Collections due to take place on Christmas Day on Christmas Day, and rest of that week, will take place the day after usual collection day (i.e. collections due to take place on Tuesday (Christmas Day) will take place on Wednesday, collections due to take place on Wednesday will take place on Thursday, and so on). All other collections are as usual.
Waste Management Centres in Goulburn, Marulan and Tarago will be closed from 12pm on the 21st December. They will also be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, but will open from 8am-12noon on Christmas Eve. All other days over the Christmas period are as per usual opening hours.
