Police said at 10.30am the 51-year-old male driver lost control of his vehicle approaching Granger Road at Wollogorang, some 20km south of Goulburn. The car slid into the median strip due to the wet weather.
The southbound lane was closed for a short time as Goulburn Highway Patrol removed the vehicle.
The driver was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital with complaints of chest pain while the 11-year-old passenger was uninjured.
The lane has now reopened.
Meantime, the wet weather hasn’t caused too many headaches for Goulburn SES.
Goulburn unit commander Daryl Skinner said a crew attended four call-outs on Thursday night, mainly for leaking roofs after water backed up in gutters.
One of these was in Edwards Street, west Goulburn and another in Verner Street.
Despite the sometimes heavy falls, Mr Skinner said the SES was not concerned at this stage about river rises. While more rain is forecast for Friday, it’s expected to taper off on Saturday.
A crew nevertheless remains on standby, with more resources available if needed.
Goulburn itself has received about 45mm since Thursday but the district has registered larger falls.
