This year is the 27th year that local businessman Peter Mylonas has organised this community event that now attracts many visitors from Sydney, Canberra and Wollongong as well as the local district to be part of the audience.
As he has done each year since the first Carols of Hope, Chris King is looking forward to being emcee for the evening, introducing the local and internationally recognised performers.
This year's line-up will feature: Timomatic, The Koi Boys, Colin Buchanan, Mariah Keramianakis and Nathan Patterson and the younger children will be looking forward to seeing Santa make his annual visit to the event.
Goulburn’s Carols of Hope has grown from a small gathering on a tiny stage in front of the band rotunda, to a huge spectacular evening on a large stage with stage lighting and sound system. It now attracts an audience numbering in the thousands to see quality entertainers performing popular Christmas carols and songs, as well as some of their own favourite material.
The evening starts at 5.30pm on Saturday but people arrive early to get a good seating position.
Bring your own chairs, picnic blanket and don’t forget some warm jackets, in case the evening turns cool. Also some insect repellent as the mosquitoes are about after dark.
Added to the entertainment there will be horse drawn carriage rides, Matilda's Zoo for the kids to pat the animals, fairy floss, sparkling treats and a sausage sizzle.
This will be the final year that Mr Mylonas will be at the helm of the event. A committee is being appointed to run future events.
