After several days of temperatures nudging toward 40C the temperature took a dive on Saturday, for the Pictures and Popcorn event organised by Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
The afternoon started out quite pleasant, food and refreshment stalls set up, a coffee van, barbecue and a variety of other street food stalls as well as the council popcorn machine and another popcorn stall.
Mission Australia’s screen and video projection equipment was set up on the far side of the pool so the audience either in the pool or on the grassed slope would have a good view of the movie once the sun went down.
Lots of people streamed through the entry to the Aquatic and Leisure Centre, many coming early to take a dip and dry off before the movie. Council had also organised a couple of inflatable jumping castle type attractions, one in the pool and another down the back, near the beach volleyball court.
Toward sundown very light misty rain started to drift in dropping the temperature a little further.this deterred some families from staying while other people went home to get warmer clothes and returned.
