Can assist volunteers also help with the Classic Riders annual ride days, by preparing food for the hundred or more participants and support personnel. The local group who helps families ease the burden’s associated with cancer treatment have been helping out with the swap meet since it began several years ago.

 This year the gate keepers said they thought that numbers were down, but they had heard that numbers have been down at most swap meets. The Rotary Club of Goulburn provided hot food throughout the morning starting quite early so stall holders could enjoy breakfast before the crowds arrived. It also meant that those bargain or rare spares hunters who had travelled long distances overnight could also get a feed without first having to stop off in town.

The swap meet is more than a buy and sell fest, it has become a place for people to catch up, discuss restoration projects, get advice, and find out about what is happening in other parts of the country particularly in relation to the popular hobby or even business of restoring and building bikes from nearly scratch.

 For the observer looking around the crowd, both stall holders and those who came to look, there was a distinct lack of younger people. One local looker suggested the average age would have been somewhere in the high 50s or maybe even older. No matter the age, there were plenty of people enthusiastically talking about bikes and looking through the dozens of stalls for bits they needed or thought might come in handy.
