The Historic Touring Car Series have joined the program, the category attracting a variety of classic machines from the 1960s and 70s. The category has attracted some prominent drivers, including Bathurst competitor Michael Anderson, who returns to his XY Falcon GT after several seasons racing a much newer Falcon V8 Supercar in the Kumho Super3 Series.

Touring Car Masters front-runner Brad Tilley will be behind the wheel of his Mustang, while Goulburn locals will be able to cheer on Rose’s Café owner Michael Rose, also in a Mustang.

Joining the Historic Touring Cars at the older end of the spectrum are the HQ Holdens; reigning Champion Brett Osborn looks set to resume his rivalry with brothers Chris and Jason Molle, while Duane Cambridge, Scott Walker, Chris Buckley and Glenn Deering will also be among the front-runners.

Alongside the historic cars will be some more modern machinery, with the popular Production Touring Car Championship attracting a healthy 27-car field.

The technical Wakefield Park circuit typically suits the lighter and more nimble vehicles, but recently the larger V8s have reigned supreme, Matthew Holt wrestling his big HSV Clubsport to three race wins at Wakefield Park last season.

Holt will be challenged by Tony Virag, who will race his F Series HSV GTS in Class A1 while his daughter Corrine slots into a Class B2 Commodore SS-V.

Also among the outright contenders will be Anthony Soole in his newly-built BMW M4, while former Toyota 86 Series champ Jimmy Vernon slots into a Mitsubishi Evo X ahead of his campaign in the new TCR series later this year.

As always, the class battles in PTC will provide as much interest as the outright contest, with Class D set to be an interesting dice between five Toyota 86 drivers.

The fastest cars on this weekend’s program will be the Sports Sedans, with Steve Lacey keen to bounce back after a difficult weekend in the Bathurst 6 Hour Combined Sedan races with mechanical problems. Lacey’s main adversary, Birol Cetin is back with his Camaro, while Doulman Automotive team-mates Simon Copping (ex-Perkins Motorsport Commodore V8 Supercar) and Grant Doulman (Falcon) will challenge for race wins along with Anthony Macready in his Nissan 300ZX.

The experienced Dylan Thomas is the clear favourite for Formula Vee honours, although he will face opposition from Simon Pace and Craig Sparke.

The program is completed by the Superkarts, including a mixture of 250cc, 125cc gearbox and 125cc non-gearbox karts. John Pellicano will be the driver to beat in the 250s, Aaron Cogger and Mark Robin will be the main challengers in 125GB and Alan Dodge and Mark Vickers are the main contenders in 125NGB.
