In its sixteenth year, the Taralga Flock Ewe will be judged by return judge Ben Patrick of ‘Yarrawonga Merino Stud’ at Harden will be joined by David Zouch of ‘Hollow Mount Merino Stud’ at Bigga.
One day has been set aside for judging on Tuesday, February 26.
It will all come down to the best commercial sheep on the day, chief steward Chris Croker said.
Following on farm judging and appraisal, the top five finalists will be selected and announced at a presentation at the Taralga Sports Club on February 26 at 5.30pm.
These finalists will have ewes at the Taralga Show on Sunday, March 10, and the final placings will be announced.
A bus will leave the Taralga Hotel at 8am with limited seating.
Judges and spectators will travel from Tarlo River to the Abercrombie River in the morning and out to Golspie, west of Taralga, in the afternoon.
Lunch will be at midday at the Taralga Sports Club.
The top two flocks that are announced as winners will be invited to enter into a regional competition.
Crookwell, Taralga, Gunning and Boorowa Flock Ewe competitions have combined for this event which will take place on March 15.
