Police have issued an infringement notice to the driver of a white Mazda after a crash at the intersection of Hume Street and Finlay Road on Tuesday.
Chief Inspector John Sheehan said the 79-year-old was travelling north when when she did not make a safe right-hand turn into Finlay Road.
She collided with a Ford Fairlane driven by a 73-year-old woman, who suffered abrasions to her chest and knee as a result.
The Mazda driver sustained broken ribs and a sprained wrist.
She was also carrying a baby, believed to be more than one-year-old, in the back seat. The baby was not injured, police said.
Tuesday 11am
Two women were taken to Goulburn Base Hospital on Tuesday morning following a two-car collision in the city's south.
The crash, at the Hume Street/Finlay Road intersection occurred at 8.55am.
Police, Ambulance and NSW Fire and Rescue attended the scene where they found a 1995 Ford Fairlane had smashed into a pole on the north-eastern side of the intersection.
It's believed that vehicle was travelling north on Hume Street when it collided with a white Mazda sedan. Police could not confirm at this stage whether the Mazda was crossing the intersection. That vehicle ended up on Hume Street, also facing north.
The woman driving the Mazda suffered unknown injuries and was taken to Goulburn Base Hospital. NSW Fire and Rescue mopped up hydraulic fluid, oil and water the vehicle spilled on the road. The Mazda sustained significant front-end damage, as did the Fairlane.
Paramedics treated the Fairlane driver, aged in her seventies, at the scene for cuts to her leg and arms, bruises and shock before taking her to Goulburn Base Hospital.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Police diverted northbound traffic via Finlay Road after closing Hume Street for a short time.
A Roads and Maritime Service officer also attended the accident.
Police are still investigating the crash.
