The Lieder Theatre Company presents Ken Ludwig's swashbuckling romantic comedy 'The Three Musketeers', which opens on Wednesday, 6th March, as a fundraiser for the Teapot Club, hosted by The Goulburn Argyle Rotary Club (to raise support for local autistic children).

Collecting, clean outs + cultural gifts

Join Director Gina Mobayed on a journey through the highs and lows of bringing together the Gallery's current exhibition 'Goulburn Bustle'. Having worked with a collection of over 11,000 artworks in a previous life, she'll share her specialist approach to this collection, its recent reinvigoration, and the new Store. She'll also discuss works that formed part of the largest gift the Gallery ever received in 2018.

Goulburn's 156th Birthday Celebration

Along with the customary cutting of the cake, we will have the privilege of having local high school students address the public and 'Happy Birthday' will be sung by local primary school students. We will also hear from some of Goulburn's most influential people telling stories of their love for Goulburn. Come and enjoy a slice of cake and celebrate this special day of Australia's first inland city!
Annual Rose Festival Art Exhibition
- On Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10, 10am to 4pm, Veolia Arena. Admission: gold coin donation.
The Art Exhibition has two sections. The general art section and the rose themed section which has a first prize of $500. All art works are for sale. It is an ideal opportunity to buy a reasonably priced painting as a gift for Mothers Day or for your home, office or shop. There are works to suit almost any pocket.
Goulburn's 26th Annual Rose Festival

Huge displays and thousands of blooms to smell, rose and floral art competition, art exhibition and plenty of stalls! The Festival features thousands of named roses on display, including the City of Goulburn Rose. The festival includes a competition in which anyone can enter roses for judging. Prize money of over $2000 is donated by local businesses, organisations and individuals. Meals available and wheelchair accessible.
National Angora Trophy Show and Sale
- On Saturday to Sunday, March 9-10, 8.45am to 5pm, Peden Pavilion. Admission: free.
This event showcases the best Angora goats in Australia with about 150 animals and 80 fleeces competing for the Supreme Champion Angora and Supreme Mohair fleece. See these beautiful animals and inspect the fantastic fibre they produce. Exhibitors travel from South Australia, Victoria, Queensland and NSW. An International judge has been secured from South Africa. A good opportunity to see high quality Angora goats and mohair fleece.
Historic Waterworks Open and Steaming

Come and see Goulburn's original 1883 steam beam engine used to supply the city's water. There will be Special Classical Operatic performance by the Steam Diva and Dr Lucifer, presenting 'steamy' duets of love. Take a tour of the Pumphouse Museum and historic Waterworks and see the 130 year old Appleby Beam Engine and Hick Hargreaves Corliss Valve Engine under steam. Refreshments available or bring your own for a picnic by the river. There is a children's playground too.
Exhibition: The Aftermath of WWI

The theme of the Great War centenary continues this year, with the focus on "Returning Troops, the Spanish Influenza Pandemic - the Aftermath of War". Because of the tyranny of distance and the lack of suitable transport ships, many service personnel were still arriving back in Australia well into the '20s. This is a new exhibition.
Goulburn Bustle

An exhibition presenting the breadth of the Gallery's permanent collection, unleashed en masse for the first time in its 37-year history. Beginning with The Moffitt Bequest in 1956, continuing to today, Goulburn Bustle features hundreds of works from the collection and has been curated by previous directors Jennifer Lamb, Jane Cush, and current director Gina Mobayed.
Georgian Glass: Colonial Style

The exhibition consists of over 40 pieces from the collection, including glasses, rummer glasses, jugs, serving ware and candlesticks.The collection highlights stylistic changes in English glass, driven by advances in technology and changes in the way people ate, drank and socialised. It surveys major changes in style and taste during the Georgian era,as well as the technology of glass making during this era.
