A morning tea, complete with cheeky cupcakes, was held to mark the occasion.
The refreshments were followed by an empowering talk from member for Goulburn, Pru Goward MP, about her life and the meaning of the day.
Attendees included students from Trinity Catholic College, Mulwaree High School and members of the community.
The Gallery is led by an all female team who couldn't wait to celebrate International Women's Day.
The event was surrounded by artwork created by 43 female artists from the gallery's permanent collection.
Goward is currently minister for family and community services, minister for social housing, and minister for the prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault.
International Women's Day is held annually on March 8 and is celebrated all around the world.
