Goulburn women Emma and Lucy Longmire recounted their experience as local horse trainers in an address as part of International Women's Day.
The twins, who form Twinstar Racing, spoke at a Goulburn Soroptimists International function on March 8. The dinner, celebrating International Women's Day, was held at the Centretown Lagoon Restaurant on March 8.
Emma and Lucy detailed their journey to date, decision to team up, the power of women and said they couldn't have achieved what they had without support.
The twins have trained numerous winners, including 12 since last August.
At the end, they surprised everyone by donating $500 to Gouburn Soroptimists. The function raised money for a portable oxygen concentrator for Goulburn Palliative Care, estimated to cost $6000.
Their mother, Tempe Hornibrook, said president Sue Latta was left "speechless" by the gesture.
The night also included an address by Vanessa Bell. The former model spoke about her business, Sarah Jane Bond, which manufactures woollen baby blankets. Ms Bell is a district grazier who is passionate about wool and its fashion and insulation qualities.
