In the Supersport division, Toparis used his home knowledge to his advantage, and claimed a comfortable victory, but he said that the going was harder in the second race.
"Some of the guys had learned a few things and the first two or three laps was a little bit of a fight," Toparis said.
"Then I got to the front and slowly put it into them and ended up with a second or two lead at the end."
From there, Toparis managed the gap expertly and claimed his second first-place finish from the first two rounds of the ASBK.
Meanwhile. Herfoss came into Wakefield Park having claimed sixth place in the Kawasaki Superbike division at Phillip Island, but the support of his home crowd and his knowledge of the track saw Herfoss qualify in third place and proceed to set a new lap record of 57.525 seconds as he won both races comfortably.
This result means that Herfoss has moved into second position overall on the ASBK rankings, behind Cru Halliday in first.
According to Toparis, the crowd support was undoubtedly a boost to his performance on the weekend, but it also came with its own challenges.
"It's so good to have everyone there and everyone coming out and getting an understanding of what's going on," Toparis said.
"But at the same time it's quite hard, because this is my busiest weekend of the year. With the on-track stuff and then the off-track stuff with media and speaking to everyone, it's hard to keep focused and not get distracted."
It is a testament to the mental strength of the 19-year-old that he was still able to perform so well in spite of the external distractions.
Last weekend's crowd was one of the biggest in recent memory, and Wakefield Park operations manager Dean Chapman confirmed that it was "the biggest crowd we've had in well over ten years."
"By all records that we have its the largest ASBK round at Wakefield Park," Chapman said. "We had 4000 people on Sunday and over 6000 people over the three days.
"It was great to hear that the local businesses were benefiting from it."
Toparis extended his thanks to the local businesses who supported him in round two of the ASBK: Studio 4 Sign and Design, Ganter Constructions, Greengrocer Cafe, Wakefield Park, Goulburn Automotive, and Wilson Plumbing.
