Whilst not contributing to series points, the event was won by three time Triathlete of the year Andrew Oberg over Jaemin Frazer (the latter thought to be unbeatable by most onlookers).
There was some conjecture to this result however and protests are pending due to the fact that both Andrew and Jaemin cut short the run by about 300m, the lure of the flying fox too great to ignore.
Third placed Gavin Moroney was the first individual to complete the correct course.
The final weeks of racing were once again keenly contested with winners in various distances including Charlie and Oscar Moss, Rod McWhirter, Damien Ottley, Kelly McKellar, Nadine Moroney, Andrea Ottley, Violet Ottley, Jacqueline Oberg and Jaemin Frazer.
Whilst accolades are always given to the winners, solid performances were also put in by Kerry Baxter, Gavin Moroney , Lori and Jasmine McWhirter, Ted Goad , Rod Smith, Luan Bone and veterans Alan Gowen and Peter Tapp with all scoring personal season bests toward the end of the year.
The aquathon series will return to racing on the first Tuesday of November and all details will be revealed on the new season in the preceding months.
In the meantime an informal run group will be meeting at the Pool every Tuesday night at 6pm sharp for a social run (varying distance according to personal preference).
Previously on March 10 , six Goulburn Triathlon Club members contested the Sri Chinmoy Multisport Classic in Jindabyne comprising three swims, three runs, three kayak paddles and three mountain bike legs.
The 120km long event encompasses the entire length of Lake Jindabyne from Kalkite in the North West to Hatchery Bay in the South West back into Jindabyne proper.
After feeling the event out two years ago and placing third in the Teams category last year, the Goulburn Team "We Perisher Thought #4 Pete" used their previous experience in the event to carve out victory in the teams event and an impressive fifth outright.
They were one of only five teams to complete the course in under nine hours.
The Team including Andy Oberg and Andy Dawes (both three legs), Mark Stutchbury and Rod Smith (both two legs) and Jacqui Oberg and Kerry Baxter (one leg each) have now shaved an impressive 98 minutes from their time of 2017.
They hope to tighten up a few things next year to bring that down again.
