Michelle Sullivan and Letitia Webb beat Amy Croker and Brooke McClelland in very competitive match which stretched out to three sets, 2-6 6-4 6-2 in the Women's A3 final.
The Men's A3 final played out between father and son duo Steve and Noah Bricknell versus mother and son Natalie and Reid Rowsell.
It was fantastic to see the two juniors holding their own and challenging each other from the baseline.
Noah's well-honed groundstrokes are enviable to any budding tennis player. Natalie and Reid won the battle 6-3 6-5 well done to both the exciting junior competitors.
The Women's A2 final showcased some of the best tennis in the competition, as Tammy and Sue Francis beat Belinda Masters and Toni Rudd who are no strangers to reaching the final.
Tammy served extremely well throughout the final and got herself and Sue over the line.
Duncan Gray and Tim Price took on Larry Meng and Sean Haynes in the Men's A2 grade final.
This was a very popular and enjoyable grade, particularly for the less experienced players getting a chance to learn the gameplay from their experienced partners.
Tim was the outstanding player in this final thanks to his decisive volleying at the net, and he got the job done as one of the most improved players of the tournament. Duncan and Tim won 6-1 6-4.
In the Men's A1 final, Kevin Collins and Luke Mitchell played Mick Craig and Thomas Day.
In an epic and suspenseful battle, Mick and Tom won the final in a third set tie breaker.
The Women's A grade had Sally McLean and Karina Reese square off against Michelle Craig and Leanne Cox. All four competitors were incredibly solid, but Leanne put on a standout performance and was strong throughout all aspects of the match. Michelle and Leanne won 5-6, 6-3, 6-1.
The Men's A grade final was played out between Ben Rudd and Brad Griffon against Duncan Gray and Ben Evans.
A really entertaining final but with Brads hands at the net, and Ben Rudd's pace combined with elegant touch, particularly when lobbing the net players, saw the boys beat Duncan and Ben Evans in three sets.
Thanks to all players throughout the competition and we will see you in the winter competition which starts the week of April 30. If you are interested in playing, please contact tournament director Richard Hailston on 0421 743 989.
