"When we started, it was a small setup and I had no idea how busy it would get," Mrs Neate said. "We have come a long way since then. Kids whose parents were my students once are now coming here to learn swimming."
Starting as a instructor at the age of 15, she has been teaching people to swim for 55 years. "When the business started in 1996, it was kept within the family. Neate Swim School has come a long way since then. Instructors were later hired to keep up with the additional demand," she said.
But after 23 years, she and husband Ron are selling the business. They have plans to travel and devote more time to their hobbies, Mrs Neate said.
"It has been a long journey since we started," Mr Neate said. "Even though it will be hard to let go, we have made the decision to retire, and have decided to sell the house and swimming pool along with it.
"We are hoping that whoever buys the property will keep the business going for the sake of the community. As Jenny has maintained high standards, we are happy to assist the buyer to ensure seamless transition," he said.
Spread over an area of one acre, the premises includes the covered indoor pool area, which also has a changing room and two toilets for the disabled.
The pool caters for all ages, from babies to adults, and to people with disability and has a lifter to attach to a submersible wheelchair.
It is for sale at a price of $890,000, Mr Neate said.
