The Domain Rental Report for March 2019 shows the median rental costs for homes and units in the region and how they have changed during the past few years.
The median weekly rent for a home in Wingecarribee is $510 which is significantly higher than in Yass Valley ($420) and Goulburn/Mulwaree ($360).
The report also shows that Wingecarribee has the most expensive median unit rental cost at $350, followed by Goulburn/Mulwaree at $252.50.
Unit prices for Yass Valley were not listed in the Domain report.
Despite the high cost to rent a home in Wingecarribee, prices actually retracted by -1.9 per cent ($10 a week) during the past year. The cost for units, however, remained the same year-on-year.
Other locations experienced an increase in median weekly asking rents during the past 12 months.
The report shows that homes in Yass Valley jumped by 5.7 per cent during the year - from $397.50 to $420; while prices in Goulburn/Mulwaree increased by 2.9 per cent - from $350 to $360.
For investors, homes in Goulburn/Mulwaree offered up the highest gross rental yield at 4.66 per cent which represented a 0.6 per cent increase on the previous year.
The gross rental yield on homes in Wingecarribee is 3.97 per cent, which was a 2.3 per cent increase during the past 12 months.
No rental yield data was listed for the Yass Valley.
