Saturday, May 11, promises to be full of festival fun honouring the world's most popular vegetable, the ever versatile potato.
The events of the weekend start on the Friday evening with the Crookwell Potato Festival Art Show, Crookwell Library Book Fair and the enjoyable Last Night of the Proms Concert at St Bartholomew's.
There will be many varieties of farm-fresh Crookwell grown spuds for sale so stop by and stock up on your favourite potato and meet the celebrated local farmers who grow them.
If you are looking for ideas on what to do with your potatoes visit the Patata Café and watch the cooking demonstrations by culinary experts including Lyndey Milan OAM award winning presenter, food and wine teacher and consultant.
Certainly one of the highlights of the Potato Festival is touring a viable and well known commercial potato farm in Crookwell, and meeting the potato farmer himself NSW Landcare State Champion Garry Kadwell.
Visitors can enjoy an eco-farm tour and see how Crookwell potatoes and our abundant wildlife live in harmony.
After some excitement and want to feel the wind in your hair?
Serenity Trike Tours will be giving festival goers a fun 10 minute tour of Crookwell township.
Safety is a priority and they will be providing all the necessary gear to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip.
The Serenity Trike team will be offering extended trike tours of the local region on both Saturday afternoon after the festival and on Sunday morning.

Crookwell Veterinary Hospital will be holding a pet parade at 2pm in the kid zone.
The categories are best trick, biggest ears, most colourful pet, biggest pet, smallest pet, most unusual pet, best Irish dressed pet, and pet that most looks like a potato, there are lots of fun prizes to be won and entry is free.
Crookwell RSL will be hosting the South Coast Country Music Association on Saturday, May 11.
The association is a group of traveling musicians singing popular covers by Roy Orbison, Queen, Elvis, Alan Jackson, Mavericks, Bob Segar, Status Quo, Buddy Holly, Cherry Blixx Bombs, Tom Jones, Willy Nelson, Johnny Cash plus more.

Crookwell retailers are joining in on the festive potato and autumn season spirit and are decorating their windows in preparation for all the visitors who will enjoy what Crookwell township has to offer.
Many of our shops, cafes and pubs will be open extended hours over the weekend as well as many of our local attractions including the Alpaca Farm Experience, Crookwell Railway Museum, 41 Cowper St - Tea House and Gallery and Crystal Brook Gardens and Lavender Farm.
