Wife carrying races originated in Finland where local women were once commonly abducted. The World Wife Carrying World Championship has teams competing from Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Estonia, Ireland, and the United States. A recent competition was organised by the Finnish Embassy in Canberra.
Caneball (Sepak Takraw) is a popular Southeast Asian sport played in over 100 countries. It resembles volleyball but players use their feet, knees, chest, and head and not their hands.
