June is a busy month for the conservatorium with several special events on their calendar. A Choral Spectacular is being held on Sunday June 16, featuring VOCALOCAL, ReZone8 Vocal Youth, Cantabile and special guests QWire.
The Canberra Gay and Lesbian Qwire consists of about 80 members from all walks of life, ranging from late teens right through to the wiser generations; all drawn together by their common love of music and singing.
They perform extensively within Canberra each year at various functions - ranging from the prestigious, including the National Gallery of Australia, Parliament House and the MusicACT Music Awards (MAMA's), to school fetes, folk festivals, and social and remembrance functions held by other community groups.
Hume Conservatorium director Paul Scott-Williams is thrilled to bring QWire to Goulburn for their first performance.
"Qwire have a extensive repertoire and this concert will feature songs by U2 and Melissa Etheridge as well as combined choral items with all of the Conservatorium choirs, so we are looking forward to a great afternoon of song," he said.
"With a diverse program and many performers, this concert is one for the diaries."
The Winter Feast is on Friday, June 21. This is a musical and gastronomical celebration of mid-winter. Held annually on the winter solstice, the three course bounty of medieval fare from Harvest Goulburn will be matched with local wines from Lerida Estate Winery.
Featuring staff and students from the conservatorium and special guests, the tickets are limited to 80 and will sell quickly. For further information on these events call (02) 4821 8833.
Bookings are essential with NO tickets at the door and are available at https://www.trybooking.com/BCXZL or call the office on (02) 4821 8833.
